Working as a stylist is truly a dream! Tel Aviv Couture wasn’t always a blog, and I wasn’t always a stylist. I know, it’s hard to believe! When I began building Tel Aviv Couture, I was primarily representing Israeli designers. I had a showroom, hosted many events and had an online store. While doing all of this, many clients began asking me to style them for different occasions. With so many clients asking for my styling help, I discovered the opportunity to become a stylist. One of my favorite things about growing Tel Aviv Couture was meeting people and helping them feel amazing about themselves, adding styling to my brand felt like a natural step.
As you know, feeling great in your clothes can be a huge confidence boost. And honestly, my clients give me confidence to continue to grow and do what I love. It really is my dream job! A few months ago, I had the opportunity to work on a super special project with one of my amazing clients. I’ve been lucky enough to work with the incredible Jessica Zweig. on her new website. Oddly enough, I met Jessica in the bathroom at Soho House. One of my other friends, Sonja, adjusted her on the floor of that bathroom, sounds crazy, right? Next thing you know we became fast friends and I’ve had the opportunity to style this stunning ladyboss for some of the most exciting occasions.
Most recently, I worked with Jessica to style looks for her brand new website. Working on this project with her was honestly one of the most fun projects I’ve worked on! Not only is she gorgeous but she’s incredible to work with. We had so much fun throughout the entire project and the pictures came out INSANE. Jessica is such an inspiring business woman who inspires me daily. She’s one of my favorite ladybosses! How amazing does she look in these pictures?! I am obsessed! If you are looking for masterful branding agency, to grow your business or brand by simply be you, you must check out Jessica Zweig new site.
And if you are looking to update your site please make sure you meet Vibe Tribe Creative. I can’t recommend them enough. Personally, I can’t wait to work with them again, hopefully on updating my own blog with Jessica and Vibe Tribe Creative.
Styling is by far the best job I’ve ever had, and people ask me all the time how to become a stylist so I wanted to share a few tips I’ve learned along the way for those that may be interested in becoming a stylist.
Learn The Basics of Fashion
Obviously, as a stylist it’s essential that you’re knowledgeable about fashion. For me, working with fashion designers and brands was a huge learning experience. Helping other people in events and retail settings is a great place to gain insight on styling. It gives you a chance to gain hands on experience while learning about other brands, fits, and fabrics.
Research Trends
As a stylist, a big part of your job is to stay up-to-date on the latest trends. The fashion world is always changing, so doing research and knowing what’s going to be the next hottest trend is crucial to working with your clients. Personally, I love following other fashion bloggers, stylists and fashion magazines to gain inspiration and research.
Network
Starting out as a stylist it’s super important to network. Putting yourself out there on social media and attending events is a great way to gain a following and to show your work. Hiring a stylist is really personal, and people want to feel comfortable with you. I’ve had many clients come from simply networking!
It Starts with One Happy Client
Many of my clients come from referrals. It all starts with one happy client! Once you share your fashion knowledge and provide your client with a positive experience, they will want to share with everyone they know.
