This is the best time of year to find the best trends and create your must-haves list for the upcoming seasons. Some you can even find in your own closet! Trends are just options, it doesn’t mean we have to try every single one. If something makes you feel good, any color, style, or silhouette, I give you permission to make it a trend! I usually just get dressed based on whatever I’m in the mood for, but I also do my research and pick the trends I’m most excited to experiment with. So let’s dive in to the 2021 trends you need to know about…
WHITES AND BRIGHTS
Whites, brights, pastels, and experimenting with colors! Whites and brights always feel new and have that fresh vibe. Don’t be afraid of wearing white in winter. I’ve noticed a lot of people gravitate toward dark colors even around the house, but I encourage you to experiment with brightening up your wardrobe.
PADDED BLAZERS
I’ll never stop talking about blazers, they’re just such great wardrobe staple. If you don’t have a padded blazer, you can wear padded tee shirt (that many of you already have from this summer blog post) to create the effect. Or, you can order shoulder pads from Amazon! MATCHING SUITS & SETS
Whether it’s a track suit, sweatsuit, or boss lady suit, anything with matching elements tends to look really fashionable and put together. It’s an instant fashion moment! And in the year of loungewear, it’s no surprise everyone fell in love with matching sets and this became one of the must-have 2021 trends.
DICKIE ACCESSORIES
The little things really make a big difference. This accessories trend is especially great for wow factor in zoom calls. It looks so epic layered over anything!
EMBELLISHED ANYTHING
Michael Kors made these dreamy sweaters that caught my eye right away. Again, great for zoom calls to be a little extra special. Anything embellished is super effective and trendy, especially around holidays. Metallics are having huge moment because let’s admit it, we all need some shine this year.
VERSATILE VESTS
I am huge on vests and I layer them over anything. Vests are easily a great statement piece to have fun with styling, I talk about it in this blog post! This Michael Kors mongolian fur was pricier, but I know I will wear it forever, I never sell them! I love styling vests with skirts, leather leggings, biker shorts.
CAPE MOMENTS
Capes are back! They are such luxurious moment, feminine, and vintage feel. Oversized capes like this from MK I literally use as a blanket, just so cozy. It’s just a more creative type of outerwear/coat! I love styling them with jeans or leather leggings, and shorter capes are really pretty with over the knee boots and skirts or mini dresses.
