Believe me, I’m holding on the last bits of summer as hard as I can!! But I have to admit, lately my mind has been on sweaters, booties, and fall dresses. I don’t think it’s ever too early to start dreaming about a fall wardrobe!! Especially in Chicago, it will be cold before we know it. And since it’s my job to keep you wardrobe-ready with all the hottest pieces for the season, that’s what I’m doing today! And this time, focusing on comfy fall trends that work for our new homebody lifestyle.
Like most things this year, fashion is not what we expected it to be in 2020! Remember when we spent 3 months exclusively shopping for tie-dye pajamas? While it’s not exactly what we expected, there’s no question we fashion lovers are already thinking about what fall fashion is going to look like this year. Of course we’ve all experienced lifestyle changes and with that comes a need for new clothes. Specifically new clothes to fit the work-from-home, effortless vibes! So let’s get into the perfect comfy fall edit! From the neutral color palette obsession, to everyday cardigans that couldn’t be more perfect for the at-home lifestyle…
JUMPSUITS
Raise your hand, jumpsuit lovers!! I found my new favorite jumpsuit from Mango, so of course I had to start the list with this! Jumpsuits just have that cool vibe, am I right?! Not only does it look effortless, it actually is! Think about it, it’s just one piece, no fuss about matching top and bottom 🙂 Easily one of my favorite comfy fall trends. I love styling them over bralettes, puff sleeves tops, or with a staple button down shirt. Take it into fall with a cozy sweater!
NEUTRAL KNITWEAR
Neutral knitwear meets my need for staple pieces that look and feel fabulous. Something about neutrals this year just feels so elegant, modern, and luxurious!! Usually I’m not crazy about tans and browns, but this season I can’t get enough. So much that so far, I’ve been focusing mostly on neutral knits for my fall capsule wardrobe!! I love that I can take a cardigan and pair it with anything, like jumpsuits, tees, or crop tops. .Just add chic gold hoops and layered necklaces for the most stylish touch.
If I mention one investment-worthy knitwear brand, I have to mention Frett, a luxury knitwear Israeli designer!! They are a slow-fashion brand so everything is ethical, gorgeous, and high quality. I swear these are some of the best, softest knits I’ve ever had. A great staple like this is worth the investment to wear for years to come, and most importantly, to feel good about it!!
BABY BLUE
Speaking of knits, this fall you can take sweaters another direction with some beautiful blue tones. Guys, this baby blue color has been the color of the year!! I started 2020 talking about the Courier Carryall from my Coach collaboration and the obsession hasn’t slowed down. I’m taking this color into fall with the cutest cropped cardigan from Mango! I love this fit to wear with crop tops from summer, and for a flattering layer over fall maxi dresses.
POLKA DOTS
This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about polka dots in 2020, and it definitely won’t be the last!! I can’t help it, they are the most classic trend and I love to see the vintage vibes in modern fashion. I’ve been wearing this new polka dot top from Mango, because I just can’t resist! I love styling polka dots with other classic staples and adding some edge, like distressed denim shorts and white sneakers.
OVERSIZED BLAZERS
Personally, I’m excited to see this trend every time it pops up because it is one of my staple style looks. Seriously!! Year after year, a great blazer doesn’t go out of style!! And since I’m all about effortless, cool, edgy looks, I normally go for the oversized look. It’s really easy and super flattering for anyone to pull off!! Just buy that adorable blazer one size up, it’s that simple. I tend to buy blazers in size S instead of XS, just to give that roomier, boyfriend vibe, without drowning in it. Pro tip, roll the sleeves up to the elbows for the most flattering oversized look!
