Starting the fall season, it’s the ideal time to clean my closet. My goal is to curate an effortless, minimalist wardrobe with some of my old favorites and new additions while staying true to my signature style. There are lots of exciting choices out there! Here are 6 closet essentials for fall to look out for, including some of my favorite transition pieces that inspired me…
1. PURPLE
While styling a new, super exciting collaboration with Coach, I was inspired to add more color to my life. Since purple is the hottest color of the season, I decided to welcome more of it to my closet! I love this printed skirt with tones of pink and purple… jewel tones are unexpectedly IN for the fall season, and this skirt is the perfect transition piece. Not to mention this purple color block bag is a perfect accessory to easily include the color into any of your fall outfits.
2. COAT
For a fashionista who lives in a winter city, investing in a statement coat is super necessary. Simply because we are wearing coats at least 1/2 of the year, so we may as well have some fun with it! I became obsessed with this Coach moto jacket; the style is updated and cool, and the leather and shearling are so warm.
I also fell in love with this Kobi Halperin blue-grey fur long coat. The color is gorgeous and it looks straight off the runway. For more details and an ultimate coat shopping list, check out this blog post!
3. SOMETHING LEATHER
Leather is a trend that has been around for a little while now and I don’t think it’s leaving anytime soon. It’s perfect for winter because of how warm it can keep you and because of its amazing texture. You can wear it in so many ways, too! Have you ever tried a leather suit or leather skirt? For jackets, I love this classic style with rhinestone details by Kobi Halperin.
4. MAXI DRESSES
Colder temperatures also allow you to play with — and grow — your dress collection. You don’t have to stop wearing your summer dresses, there are lots of stylish ways to keep wearing them into the first few months of fall. For example, speaking of leather jackets, just throw one over your shoulders for a chic layer and finish with great booties instead of a summer shoe. Easiest outfit ever!
5. BOOTS, BOOTS, BOOTS
This might go without saying, but boots are the biggest shoe staple for the colder seasons. You know I love a classic black or white bootie, but dare yourself to wear a more adventurous pair this season, like these studded tall cowboy boots from Coach. I recommend pairing tall boots with longer shorts or a skirt to rock a stylish transition look.
Tall boots not for you? Don’t worry, Coach is still your one-stop-shop for all kinds of booties… heeled, flat, prints, you name it! Just check out their amazing bootie selection, or run over to this blog post for more booties ideas!
6. INVEST IN A VEST
Investing in a fabulous vest is always a great idea!! Consider stepping out of your comfort zone and investing in a fun vest such as this Coach fur vest in a sweet blush pink color. I love the versatility of this piece… wear it over a sweater or blazer, or let it peek out from under your winter coat. It’s all about the layers!
