8 EASY WAYS TO ADD CHIC TO YOUR BUSINESS ATTIRE

You might be thinking that business attire sounds boring, but when you add your own twist to it, you can make any office-appropriate look unique!
Here are easy ways you can add some extra chic to your business attire.

ADD A POP OF COLOR

Neutral colors are great for business but adding a pop of color like I did with this red blazer is an easy way to make a statement. You can add a pop of color with a blazer, shoes, or even with a bold lip color. Bold colors are a huge trend for this fall season, and this is a great way to bring the trend into the office.

ADD AN EDGY SWEATER OVER A WHITE SHIRT

White shirts are a must for every woman’s wardrobe, especially for your business attire. For fall, I love layering over white shirts with edgy sweaters like I did here with this sweater from The Order. Pieces like this are great for adding personality to your wardrobe, The Order is my go-to for unique, edgy pieces.

WEAR A MONOCHROMATIC OUTFIT

Monochromatic outfits are one of my favorites for business because they have such a modern, chic feel. White is my favorite color to create this type of outfit, like I did in this post with a shorts suit. You can create a similar look with black, beige or any other color you like. It is a great foundation to add edgy details with shoes and accessories. I love adding metallic or leopard print shoes for an extra chic factor.

TRY A DRESS IN AN INTERESTING PRINT

Wrap dresses are a great dress silhouette for the office, they’re flattering and easy to wear. I love options with interesting prints that have some edginess to it without overpowering you at work. Pair with an interesting shoe to compliment the dress as well as add another chic element.

HOW TO ADD EXTRA CHIC TO YOUR BUSINESS ATTIRE

BLACK PANTS WITH INTERESTING DETAILS

There’s nothing more classic for business attire than black pants. Add some extra chicness by choosing a pair that has interesting details like this pair from Alexander Wang. I’m obsessed with this pair because of the details but if you don’t want to invest that much I love this pair with tie waist detail and this pair with a lace print.

WEAR WHITE SHOES

Make a statement with white shoes. If you’re wearing an all black outfit, completing the look with white shoes will add an unexpected touch to the look. It’s one of my long time styling trick and don’t worry you can wear them after Labor Day! Plus, white shoes are a mega trend this season and an easy one to wear at work.

TIE A RIBBON AROUND YOUR NECK

Black suits are classic for business, I fell in love with this blazer from The Kooples with the lace and ribbon detailing. I kept it classic with a white button down shirt and tied the ribbon from the jacket to create a bow. It’s such a subtle way to add an edgy element to the look. Even though the ribbon was attached to my suit, you can easily create this same look with any ribbon.

WEAR GINGHAM

Gingham is another big trend for fall and a great way to add edge to your work wear. Of course, your work environment will determine how you can incorporate the print to your look. If you work in a creative environment you may be able to wear a gingham crop top like I did here. However, if a crop top doesn’t work for your office you can try a gingham pencil skirt and pair it with a white button down blouse for a more conservative take on the look.
Which one of these tips are you going to try first? Let me know your favorite below!
