If you’ve been following me on social media, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been traveling quite a bit as well as indulging in multiple staycations around Chicago. And I have a good reason: We are currently renovating our home, and during the process, our family of 5 is living in a one-bedroom apartment! Leonix is sleeping with me and Jason in a queen-sized bed, my stepson is on an air mattress, and Katya takes the couch. It’s a little tight but to be completely honest, it’s very cozy and I’m secretly enjoying every minute. Instead of finding a bigger home to rent this summer during the renovations, we decided to save our money by staying in a small place and instead indulging in vacations and experiences. And luckily, we live in such an amazing city, we don’t have to travel far!
My kids voted The Langham as their #1 favorite hotel (you can read all about our last stay here), so I decided to surprise them with a staycation to spend some quality time with them. I’m so glad I did because it turned out to be one of the most memorable and beautiful times ever.
Our suite was very spacious and had incredible views—and of course, the best dining came with it. My family loves room service and we’re obsessed with the oysters from the Langham’s in-house restaurant, Travelle. We ordered both dinner and breakfast to the room and both meals were absolutely delicious—they have tons of healthy options for me and yummy options for the kids.
Their pool is by far the best in the city of Chicago! The Langham went above and beyond and even surprised my kids with a giant flamingo float.
This staycation was all about my kids so I skipped the spa experience this time. But I will make up for this very soon because their spa is my favorite in Chicago! We also had access to a VIP lounge where the kids could pick up snacks, fruit and candy before we headed to The Langham’s screening room to watch Home Alone. But my absolute favorite part was taking my kids to The Langham’s afternoon tea on the Pavilion. The little sandwiches and sweet treats were beyond amazing. And they even had vegan options for me that were delicious. However, I must admit I couldn’t resist tasting the kids’ treats as well! Sharing this experience with Katya and Leo brought me back to my childhood, as drinking tea with cookies is something we used to do a lot back in Ukraine. It was so special to share it at The Langham with my loves. We don’t need an occasion for this treat, we celebrate life every day, and The Langham makes it easy and extra special.
The Langham truly feels like my home away from home, so when I decided to take a trip to NYC by myself (a huge key to being a successful mom and entrepreneur!), naturally I had to stay at Langham again.
They have the largest rooms of any hotel in NY, an unbeatable location on 5th Ave, and the food at the restaurant is insanely good. I dined there twice because it was just too good! One of my favorite dishes was the caviar crudo.
The Langham staff provide absolutely incredible service and know all the guests by name. It’s not just a place to sleep or eat, it’s an entire experience. They treat guests like royalty, and I consistently have the best experience. I came back to my family as rejuvenated and relaxed as if I’d taken a full vaca. I am already looking forward to the next time and I can’t recommend this hotel enough!
