One of my most common questions is how I pose for photos and always look so happy. After hundreds of photoshoots over last decade, I’ve learned the secrets of how to pose (and look slimmer) for photos that are just too good not to share. So without further ado, here are my 7 secrets!
ANGLES ARE EVERYTHING
Don’t stand straight in front of the camera head on, it will make you wider and more stiff. Always stand at an angle and experiment with movement. You’ll look slimmer and it looks more natural!
FAKE IT ‘TIL YOU MAKE IT
Sometimes I still get camera shy too, but I just try to forget about it! Pretend like you are on the runway or dance floor and that nobody is watching you. The photographer will know what to capture and you will look so genuine in every photo, your personality will really show.
GET CREATIVE WITH PROPS
Use props like a champagne glass, flowers, or a chair. Do whatever feels authentic to you and in the great words of Jessica Zweig, “simply be yourself.”
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Set up your self timer at home and practice posing and taking pics by yourself! You’ll learn to feel way more comfortable in front of the camera and you will nail your best pose and angles in no time.

BONUS TIPS:
CLEAN YOUR LENS
I can’t emphasize this enough! Especially if you are shooting with an iPhone, make sure you lens is clean of dust and smudges before you shoot. Nobody feels amazing in a blurry photo.
