HOW TO STYLE YOUR ACCESSORIES

When it came to accessories, my mantra used to be “more is more” with jewelry, bags, sunglasses, hats, and everything I could find. It was a little over the top until I found this quote from everyone’s style icon Coco Chanel: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” And from there it was an evolving process to master how to match the right accessories to the right outfit and with the right vibe—without being over the top. In all these years on my styling journey working with so many brands and designers, I developed my own accessories master class with secrets, tricks, and the effortless process.

SCARVES

Scarves are my current accessories obsession, I am always discovering new ways to style them. For vacation, style as a coverup skirt or twist it into a halter top. You can wrap smaller scarves around bag handles, brim hats, bracelets. You can even wear as a headband! Or a bowtie… I could go on for years. MINIMAL, LAYERED JEWELRY (KENDRA + BELLINA)

The hottest trend for jewelry right now is less is more! Layer smaller, simple chains and stack bracelets and rings for the minimalist, gorgeous vibe. My favorite jewelry from 900 is Kendra Scott and Bellina Caetano!

SUNGLASSES 

Let me break a huge fashion myth for you–sunglass shape doesn’t matter as much as you think! My best tip for softer face shapes is to wear stronger sunglasses shapes. And for sharper face shapes, wear softer sunglasses! I think round sunglasses or hexagon Ray Bans work for every single face shape. And guess what, statement and tinted sunglasses are the trend to look out for!

HATS

I can’t get enough hats. They are hands down the most effortless way to add style to your look! TOTE BAG

This Marc Jacobs tote didn’t leave my arms during my whole retreat in Costa Rica! I nickname it my “garbage bag” because you can throw anything and everything inside and go, including kids toys, laptops, makeup, and a good book.

Let’s face it, nothing will complete your outfit better than a cool clutch. Since evening bags are perfect for a night out, I suggest choosing one that has some interesting details to it like metallics, sequins, or rainbow.

CROSSBODY BAG

Crossbodies are hands down my most worn bag! I think every woman needs a crossbody bag for when you need some essentials without the bulk of your tote bag.

BELT BAG

Belt bags accentuate the waist so its super flattering to the body. You can also wear them over your shoulder for an even cooler effect and a fresh new way to wear the trend.
