Now more than ever is the time to invest in your sweaters! I live in sweaters because I am always cold, so I am constantly experimenting with new ways to style them. A huge misconception is that there is just one way to wear a sweater because it is so specific. Take it from me, your personal stylist Tali, that is so not true! This season there are so many great sweaters out there (and unique ways to wear them) that can instantly transform your style.
Since I’ve been spending all my time at home due to the CV pandemic, I’ve been on the hunt for cozy sweaters to wear around the house and it’s safe to say there’s no shortage of options. I wanted to give you a little inspiration for your own wardrobe, so I put together some of my favorite sweaters right now and the best ways to style them.
PLAY WITH PRINTS
It’s easy to get bored of our sweaters after wearing them all winter–I’ve been there, too! But playing with prints is my favorite way to keep my sweater collection exciting. This Coach sweater spoke to me because of the adorable martini design (happy hour anyone?), not to mention the yellow and blues are the absolute colors of the season. BONUS TIP: Mix prints with other pieces in your outfit, like this abstract print dress and my martini sweater.
LAYER OVER A DRESS
Challenge yourself to wear boxy sweaters with more feminine pieces instead of jeans! My favorite look is wearing a cozy sweater over a dress, and belting it to accentuate my waist and give some shape. Or, like I did at Coach, use a belt bag!
TUCK IT IN
The biggest style secret is tucking things in to emphasize your curves in all the right places. When it comes to sweaters that can be big and boxy, tucking it in is especially helpful! I recommend using this trick with high waisted shorts, jeans, or a feminine skirt. Your sweater goes from cozy and slouchy, to chic and shapely!
