Staying healthy and fit is incredibly important to me. I’m blessed with a lot of things in my life but my genetics and LOVE of food require me to work very hard to stay healthy and fit. I’ve made fitness a big part of my lifestyle for a long time now but as a mom, business owner and wife it can be challenging to stay consistently motivated. However, I have found a few tips and workouts that have kept me motivated and wanted to share them with you!
FOLLOW FITNESS BLOGGERS
Even though I’ve made health and fitness a big part of my lifestyle, I still need inspiration to keep going. I’ve found following fitness bloggers to be one of the most motivational tricks. Keeping up with all the bad ass fitness mavens gives me so much inspiration to try new recipes and workouts. @bun_undone, @Carlajian, @melisfit_, @katelemere, @alexiabauerl, and of course my amazing sister @orlyfitness are my absolute favorites to follow.
INVOLVE FAMILY
Since becoming a mom I’ve looked for ways to make fitness a family activity. I want to help my kids to develop a healthy lifestyle with me. Yoga has always been one of my favorite ways to stay in shape and one of the best gifts I’ve given myself is to a private yoga lesson in my home once a week. After finding the most amazing yoga teachers Carla and Alexia I can’t get enough of private practices in the comfort of my own home. Not only are these ladies great with yoga but because they’re so amazing with kids, they’ve helped my kids to show interest and get involved with the practice naturally.

As a busy mom on the go it can be difficult to find time to workout. I’ve found it’s best if I can get my workout in before taking the kids to school in the morning. If you’ve followed me for a while you know yoga is a huge part of my life—I have been into it for 8 years! It has taught me consistency and practice—both key elements to success in business and life. When I don’t have private yoga in my home, I’m absolutely obsessed with Yoga 2.0. Heated yoga is my favorite for fast results. The studio is brand NEW and stunning, the instructors are next level amazing, and it actually smells good! (Sad to say but that’s rare for heated studios.) The location is super convenient and they even offer a 45-min midday classes, perfect for a busy schedule. NO PAIN NO GAIN
I have been lifting weights for years but since I’ve been training with Lift Chicago it’s the first time I have actually seen results—and fairly quickly! The best part (and I do mean the best) is that each session is just 30 min, and only $50. How perfect for all busy entrepreneurs! I work out with Chad Driscoll but every trainer there is amazing. I have even gotten my husband hooked! Jason and I both love the vibe, everyone feels like family, their music keeps us motivated! In other words we found our ultimate gym experience and I am thrilled to share the most efficient work out with you.
GET A CUTE ATHLEISURE LOOK
Let’s face it, when we’re wearing an outfit we feel good in and excited to wear it makes everything a little better! This is especially true with workout wear. Just because you’re working out it doesn’t mean you can’t look and feel your best. I find cute athletic wear to be a little extra boost of motivation as well.
Every once in a while I’ll treat myself to some new athletic gear. My favorite workout gear brand has to be Ultracor. My go-to spot to shop Ultracor and other brands is Carbon38! They have a huge variety, stylish options, and they occasionally have great sales for the best items. I’m currently obsessed with these leggings from Carbon38 that look like leather! My other recent favorite buys include these Ultracor leggings with star print.
These brands are more of an investment, but I’ve been investing in athleisure pieces more because I’ve found that I tend to spend a lot of time in them (sometimes all day) after my workouts. But it doesn’t HAVE to be expensive and I actually found a similar stylish set that’s less expensive here and here.
What’s the best part of a cute outfit? SHOES! Workout shoes are my favorite to shop for because they have to be practical, but also full of personality. I love to get workout sneakers in bold colors because they aren’t just for working out, I wear them with just about anything on a daily basis! I recently just bought myself these cool Nike 720 style— the style is modern, fun, super comfy, and available in a variety of colors. When shopping for quality sneakers I would stick to renowned brands like Nike, Puma, Adidas, and APL.
Ever since becoming a mom I’ve gravitated towards high waisted leggings. I find high waisted options tend to feel better and are much more flattering – not to mention great for the butt 😉 Onzie has the best options for inexpensive high waist leggings on Revolve. This gorgeous rose gold leggings and sports bra set will make you look and feel like a million bucks, for under $100!
Another great thing about treating yourself to cute athletic wear is you can wear it with statement sneakers and a chic bag to run errands and go about your day as you need to! Since athleisure is such a hot trend right now you’ll be on trend and ready for your workout.
Since my bariatric surgery I’m trying to stay in fitness like walking and Pilates…we are going as a couple and we enjoy our quality time together.
Staying stylish even when you’re are doing sports is very important cause sport is just a part about feeling good, improving and empower yourself.
